think may have lost key code

I have just been trying to fit a dash cam in my cv8 I removed the steering column shroud and had the keys in the ignition to check for a live, I pulled the plug off the back of the switch and put it back but now the car wont turn over. It locks and unlocks with the key but it will not bring the accessories / on switch on the dash so the dash does not light up. Unfortunately I do not have a spare key to check if it is the key. Does anyone have any ideas whether it is immobiliser or key related?

Have tried to do key reprograming but there was no beep after leaving key in ignition after 15 mins

Vauxhall dealer can get the key code for you if you take your log book, a couple of forms if i.d. and about 20 quid.

Not even sure if it is the key, Does anyone know who is the nearest monaro authorised dealer near Manchester? The one where I live in Bolton kept telling me there was no such car as a Vauxhall monaro when I rung for parts, They kept telling me I meant a movano

Have you tried pentagon they are a vxr8 dealer I believe
