Diff leaking

My diff appears to be leaking around the rear cover plate, is there a seal in there or is it just sealant?

Also is it a diff out job to do this?

Just sealant can be done in car.

Sorry to bring up a previous thread but that would be an opportunity to increase the air gap between the rear ABS sensors and the drive shaft. This is where the spurious "wheel spin warning" appears on the dash under hard acceleration.
The gap on mine needs increasing by one millimetre. The sensors on mine are seized in their mounting. Adding a paper gasket to the diff rear cover would increase the air gap.
