VXR500 throttle body replacement

Hi everyone,
I've just joins this forum after owning my vxr500 for a little over two years.
I've found all of your posts very interesting and informative.
After two years of trouble free extremely enjoyable driving my car has developed a problem with the throttle body sensor and looks like it needs replacing,
Can anyone offer any advice on replacement and or any upgrades available and where to purchase from?

Have you tried cleaning the contacts? If it does the funny limp home mode thing, try unplugging the connector block and spray some contact cleaner in there.

I had to replace the throttle body on my standard Ro 4 years ago.

The car went into limp mode a couple of times, then a day or two later it refused to start.

MF supplied, all fine ever since.

I may well have to do the same,
But it's been suggested that I try cleaning the plug connector prior to replacement,
Worth a try!

Did you concider a larger unit?
Is one available?

No problem. This worked for me when the car started throwing faults and messing about, simply unplugged/plugged in a few times and it's been fine since. Don't bother going larger than the standard 90mm TB, it will work as it should and capable of handling more power than your car makes.

I didn't consider a larger one, i only had the car a couple of weeks so I just wanted it back on the road asap.

Hi,
Cleaned connector this afternoon and fingers crossed it seems to have done the trick!!,
Fingers crossed,
I did around 40 miles this afternoon and all was good!!.

Great news, hope it lasts!

I use dielectric grease on electrical contacts due to dry joints causing issues with all makes of cars.

A dry joint creates resistance.
