Lots of portable voice sat-nav systems, Garmin, Tom Tom, I like the garmin unit, about £800 ish which I swop between cars. Got a Kenwood system in the hsv which has one disc for all of Europe (8.4 GB)with English voice promts, don't ask the price though.

I'm curently putting together a in car computer, that has SatNav, and software is FREE.

Mainly, will be able to watch movies, play mp3's, and also record where I go on trips as the sat nav software has a logging capability.

Cheers

If your interested, there is a meet on the 3rd April somewhere up the north of London. Steve and I are going to go and have a look at what a couple of people have done with their cars. More than welcome to join the convoy if anyone wants to come along.

Mainly going as a bit of research to see what people have done, etc. There are about 20 cars going as far as I can figure out, so definitely alot to check out.

I swear by Smartnav, because its uses live traffic info.
I have a neat installation that enables me to hide the little screen in the fuse box under the steering wheel, when not in use.
Only downside is its not portable.

Hi Raggyman I am looking at a car computer too, once I get a list of components together it may be worth chatting through the issues.

Got my Smartnav before the screen was available & driving in towns was a bit dodgy. Now have a screen & its fantastic, a really worthwhile extra cost.
I've got a rubber coated bracket on the back of the screen which slots into the air vent on the dash top. When not in use it fits into the fuse compartment under the steering wheel, so nothing for the pondlife to see & steal.
Smartnav is great, by far the best & easy to use of any system I have tried.
Only negs. are its not portable & uk use only.
I use a Road Angel 2 so don't pay extra for the camera alert/speedsafe thing!
