Hi, been lurking on here for a while now.

Can anyone recommend good Vauxhall Dealers for Monaro.

I am looking to get a pre-registered CV8, but my local dealer has offered a very poor deal, especially on my trade-in.

What are your experiences?

Picador in Southampton seems to be attracting a lot of praise, I hear Caspy now deals in Monaros too?

Hi jimb0,

Your profile doesn't state which area of the country your in so it'll be more difficult to locate your nearest helpful dealership. However, if you're in the South try Picadors, Southampton. They are extremely helpfuly guys and very enthusiastic about the cars. Unfortunately, the guys in Newbury lost their Monaro franchise

I believe Dan_the_man may still have his standard (yeah right!) Monaro up for sale which has LSV's Stage 2.

You can also try Vauxhall's website as they should still list the 2004 demonstrators. Alternatively Autotrader & Ebay sometimes have the cars listed.

Picards in Southampton might be good but Picards in Chandlers Ford are the worst, they did not even bother to get back to me back after 2 visits to buy a 05 VXR.
In the end I used the dealer in Aldershot which was great service but with a low trade price on my previous car.

Thanks for the aadvice so far.

May give Picador a try even though I'm at the opposite end of the country. They have a silver pre-reg example that would do very nicely.

Bought mine from Christchurch

Won't be buying my second from there. I can't believe I wanted the Monaro so much that all common sense flew out of the window as I accepted his diabolical offer on my trade in....lost ooooooh let's call it £10,000 in 12months on that one....

Bought mine from Drive Aldershot. Sales good - nice long test drive - and got a reasonable price and sensible trade-in.

Preparation let them down though - when I bought the car, I pointed out that it needed new tyres and brakes. Picked it up a week later - had to hang around for an hour as they were in the process of getting the tyres fitted and they hadn't done the brakes as they'd only ordered the new pads the day before. They'd also introduced a fault in the climate control when they removed a hands free kit that was in there.

So, had to waste half a day the following week getting all that sorted.

Another thumbs up for Drive Aldershot.

Their sales guy is new but I was impressed when I bought mine.

W Grose in Northampton were good with me and gave me a pretty reasonable price for my Evo 7.

Only downside is that they have not provided me with a car manual and service book etc....

Are there any other dealers on here who can provide them for an 05 5.7 Monaro?

But very expensive and poor on trade-ins.
Wanted £18K plus my 2004 5.7 for a new 6-litre VXR.

Getting mine for £14.5K plus my car.
