Hi there Des,
Looking at getting my mirrors painted, just wondering ball park figure on how much it would cost. Sorry for posting here, don't know what your email address is.

Hi Jace,

Just for your information really:

The wing mirror removal process can be found in Section 27 on Pg 11-15 of the Haynes Manual (ISBN 1-56392-425-0) and goes like this:

1) Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
2) Carefully prise off the mirror trim cover and pull the demister duct up out of the door. i.e. that's the interior trim on the opposite side of the door to the mirror itself.
3) Remove the mirror assembly retaining screws, pull the mirror out and unplug the wiring connector. Note: There's 3 screws you'll need to undo to perform this part of the procedure.
4) Refitting is the reverse of removal.

kiwihsv, do you know if there's any way to tighten the mirror at the pivot point? Mine is fractionally loose so at speeds over 50mph it starts to vibrate causing loss of stable visability in that mirror. TIA.
