VXR8 LS3 Manual - sometimes pops out of 1st gear

My VXR8 sometimes pops out of first gear. I'm not sure if this is a problem or me not being forceful enough with the shifter?

so does mine- with a bang... pull into second then first before take off. t56 box strong but reverse and first a bit agricultural.
