At home today, decided to have a quick look under the bonnet.

I was amazed to see that a hose that comes from the block out into the air filter ducting has been completely sawn in half!!!


It looks like a bad design fault as the hose rests nicely on one of the belts in the car....

Is the pipe leaking? Have you got a picture of it? I know yours is a VZ Monaro and has the coolant in a different place but it should still be clear of everything...the IAT and MAF sensors can sometimes get close to that belt. Whenever I mess around with the MAF pipe or air filter I always check around there.

Is it the pipe from the Mafpipe into the left hand rocker cover?

Mafpipe = black plastic pipe about 4" across going to the front of the engine.

It was the engine breather pipe...

Sheared totally in half !!!

Shocking design fault for it to sit just above a belt.

They have bodged it up with another piece of pipe and in the meantime have ordered me a new breather pipe from Oz......

I have looked at a few 05 cars today and they all have the breather pipe very close to the belt........

Mr Vauxhall it might be worth telling your dealers!!!
