Improving the brakes on the VXR 6.0
Discussion
Is it a case of just some better/bigger discs, or is the idea new callipers, discs, hoses, the lot?
I am just thinking that a small improvement in braking would suffice, going by the road tests I have read and also the feel of the brakes on the car I drove.
There again, that car had been hammered big-time by the press, so maybe the brakes were getting tired anyway?

If a job is worth doing it is worth doing properly. If it is your intention to increase output, then u need to upgrade the brakes properly. I have a VXR and the brakes seemed 'ok' would pull up from very high speed, noisy, but did the job. Have taken the power to over 430 now and use the point and squirt far more often, much better low down torque so get going faster much quicker. Therefore need to slow down alot more if enjoying in the way it was meant to be, first thing that i noticed was that the brakes were not up to the job. Looked at all the options, but, if ever going to a track day thought do it properly. Had the 362mm 343mm HSV/AP kit fitted 6 pot front, 4 pot rear. braided hoses, upgraded brake fluid etc.
Has changed the car. Fills u with so much more confidence and u know that they will always be up to the job. Just makes for a more complete driving experience. Not cheap, well over £4k supply only but worth it. And, u can swap from car to car if u go for newer one at any stage.

Spot on caspy, if you are going to unleash big horsepower on the straight you will need trim off your speed just as much, considering the weight too you need the very best. I once did an emergency stop (bruntingthorpe) from over 160 mph, it was so impressive that it nearly matches the experience of flooring it off the line, smile factor is good too.

It's now also got a superb write up in 'Test Drive', not a publication that favours performance cars normally.something along the line s of "sensational and nearly sensible"
Must get a copy.
I am actually featured, in a 6-page spread NEXT month, when I went out testing V8s all day with that magazine!
Nice fellas.
