Took the car up to LSV today for a service and yet again it got a clean bill of health. Mark actually thinks I should put the car up for more than I'm asking but I'm now seriously thinking about keeping it! Every time I go for a decent drive the car always impresses me with it's comfort, performance and enjoyment. Even now it's 3,1/2 years old people still stare at it, or in traffic jams like today wind down their windows to talk to me about it.The other reasons for my wavering? ;A,Realised today there is no way I'll fit in an Ultima,;B Noble running costs are starting to scare me after being spoilt (so far) with the HSV and ;C some of LSV's supercharger options have come down to around £5500.
I think i might already know what you're likely to say but this is just a post from one happy owner.

P.S. Can we please stop organising meetings/weekends when I'm at Noddy,Tweenies, stag weekends and holidays as so far I've missed an event for every one of these reasons!

Keep it mate,

It's a fantastic car & I wouldn't want to sell it.

I would leave it as is, but if your going to Blow it, have a look at Brian's (pomona)first, he has done a great job & by the sound of things it really goes too.

All the best,
Rob.

Rob , I think Brians version was the type that Mark was talking about. Only thought about selling because now we have 2 other big cars at home (Voyager and Mondeo estate) it gave me the chance to get another 2 seater which I'd always had in the pre -kids and HSV era. By the way, I noticed you made a very nice comment about the car in a previous thread so thanks for that.

Decisions,(nice)decisions!

That's ok mate, I do love your car, one of the best HSV made ! I especially like the RED & BLACK leather, Paul (HSVUK)said he can tell I'm an Aussie, we love the striking colours.

Like your choice in people movers, the Voyager. But then you go & ruin everything by tilling me you also own a F**D M@*d@o.
STREWTH MATE ! Are you a Kangaroo loose in the top paddock ?

Hope you NEVER park it next to the Holden mate.

Thanks for the comments,Rob,and I still maintain in jolly old Blighty that TORQUE overules BHP.
Floor it from 2000rpm and screw blowers(not roots type)take you into another world. We require short sharp bursts on our roads, and high sustained power is never really used.Look how WRC went on about torque on that "other car".
If we all had roads like Oz enjoys well then it could be different.

Agree mate,

They also look better. I know it was a F**d but look at the Mad Max Film, people remember the car for the screw type Blower poking out the bonnet.

I seriously thought about selling my car this year, after 3 years ownership & nearly 5 years with HSV's. We also have an estate, convertible, classic & a Smart, using the HSV for business trips & fun.
There are two reasons why I have decided to keep it. First, what could I replace it with that would be as fast, cheap to run, reliable & with such good/fun handling. The answer is not easy to find, bearing in mind I have the other cars as well.
I testdrove allsorts of cars from a V10 diesel Touraeg(or however you spell it) to the new 997 Carrera S. In their own way, they were all good, the Porsche had fantastic traction & a great gearbox, but was oddly not that much fun , it was so capable that it was a bit sanitised, plus in a straight line not as quick!
None had the the fun factor that I have with the HSV. Plus I don't really do the whole Porsche/Flash German car image thing.
Second, what is my car worth with 32K miles? To spec. a Monaro to the same standard (AP brakes, 500+ bhp, headers, exhaust etc. etc.) would cost over £60k. Looks as if I would struggle to get £25k for it though!
Also, I know that I would really regret selling it.
So I have decided to hold on to it & do longer business trips in the estate, which I will replace for a newer one this year.
With the exception of my classic Jensen, I haven't owned a car for as long a period of time as my HSV, so it must be good.
