If anyone out there wants, (or knows anyone who might want) my car before it goes to the dealer in part-exchange, let me know. Thanks.
I am being allowed £22,300 so I will take the same.

Silver 5.7, *private plate worth £500 included*, as new, 7 months old. Totally standard and unfettled.

Cheers.

Purely as a matter of interest, how many miles does it have on the clock?

My dealer offered 17K trade in for mine, he's now in hospital having the toe of my boot removed from his arse, the cheapest 2nd hand NetworkQ Monaro in the country is 24K so I know exactly what mark up he was hoping for.

That was pretty mean.
I shopped around and found 7 different part-exchange deals for a new 6.0 VXR, with a £4000 gulf between best and worst.

After owning my 05 5.7 for 2 weeks I tongue-in-cheek asked my dealer what he would give me for it against a new 6.0 VXR......

23k.... he said he might possible stretch to 23.5k... Do me a favour

A 7k loss in 2 weeks.... nice !

Wow! Approx. 23% depreciation in 2 weeks! Assuming you had done the deal, I wonder what they would have tried to sell it for? Doubt it would have been less than £27k. Then the profit on the 6.0 VXR.Taking the p**s or what?
Once calculated that a friend who had a convertible Ferrari 355 for 10 months had total running costs of just under £200 per mile. We never told him!

Off topic, but a mate of mine bought a new BMW 7-series, against my advice, for £68,000.
He sold it 2 years later for £33,000 to a dealer.

I make that £336 a week in depreciation, apart from the actual (high) running costs.
The hell with that.

I am aware that the VXR SIX is going to stab me a fair bit, but my last 5 cars have fetched just £2000 less in total than I paid for them, so I feel I am well ahead at the moment, compared to the norm.
