All owners of 4dr HSV's/Holdens, Utes & I imagine to a lesser extent Monaro's, will know the sort of attention that these cars attract. In particular from those who haven't a clue as to what it is. I actually keep photocopies of press articles in the car to give out.
I have noticed more recently, the amount of people taking photos of the car. Just assumed, that as it is now almost impossible to get a mobile phone without a camera, this was the reason.
Having spoken to a couple of people whom I spotted photographing the car at M/way services during the last fortnight, it appears there might be another reason.
They both thought my HSV was a prototype 4dr Vauxhall Monaro & that they were taking "spy" shots.
Made me laugh!

You could tell them that it is, and that they could have their photo taken inside it for £30!

Yeah, missed an opportunity there. Wonder how many pics. the editors of Autoexpress, Autocar etc. have received of the new 4dr Monaro?

If it was Autoexpress they probably wouldn't know any different.

" to a lesser extent Monaro's "

No offence meant re: Monaros, just that they often have Vauxhall badges on them, which is a symbol well known in the U.K, they have had more publicity and there are many more of them on the road in comparison to HSV's, Holden's & Utes.
Most of the public do not recognise an HSV or Holden badge. As for a Maloo, that must really puzzle them!
