You guys wont believe this. I went to a Vauxhall dealership today to get (or more likely order) a Touch Up paint for my 4 week old Monaro. Was I suprised when the guy at the other side of the desk said "Monaro Whats that", when I explained he then said "are they in the country yet" .
He looked for Impulse Blue on his Vauxhall Computer and said it doesnt exist. My gast has never been so flabbered. Any of you Vauxhall dealers out there, what do you reckon?

I love my car but I am sure I am going to fall out with Vauxhall, imagine taking your car to this carage for a service .

"Yorkkie" was it a Monaro/VXR dealer or normal vauxhall dealer?

And why exactly is GM losing fortunes in money and struggling to grow market share?

Might these things be connected?

Just for the record, VAUXHALL, isnt losing money or market share.

I'm not being cynical or causing trouble, but VX does'nt make money does it?

Big fan of the Monaro, I must admit.

Caspy,
I think it is a real shame that you are not allowed to sell Monaro's. It's dealers like you (and Picadors) who have a genuine and real interest in these cars that give us punters the confidence we need in Vauxhall service. I had a similar experience to Yorkkie,at an Oxfordshire Vauxhall dealership. They thought I was talking about the Meriva!! I took the service manager outside to see a Monaro for real! Hoot hoot.

The dealer I bought my car from was excellent, they couldnt do enough for us..... My local dealer does not do Monaros .. I will probably have it serviced at the supplying dealership or at Derby.. I still need a touch up paint though

From what I understand only a VXR Dealership have the information and trained staff to service and repair Monaro's.

If the dealer is not an authorized Monaro dealer they do not have a access to a parts list or any info on Monaro's

Only a MONARO dealer has access to and can sell monaro parts to customers. The VXR brand is seperate and will be seen at all dealerships in the future, but not Monaro as there are less cars than dealers.

Just in case anyone see's a VXR brand symbol at a local dealer and thinks it is automatically able to sell Monaro bits.

Phew! Hope that clears that up.

Thanks for your help Caspy, I suppose you are saying I can only buy a touch up paint from a Monaro Dealership. Sorry I think that is crazy, If we run our business like that we would be on holiday most of the time as we wouldnt have anything to do. Bl@@dy customers ehh whod ave em.

Have to sit on the fence on this one. I also have to buy from another dealer! But i do understand the reasons why, prob is that doesnt help owners like yourself. Would prob be best for them to post a stick to u. Saves u having to drive to a dealer.

It would help if they employed people that have an interest in Vauxhall cars, people that do know that the company they work for sell a Vauxhall called a MONARO !
