Monaro VXR comes with it's own alarm, but you will have to fit a THACHAM ALARM catagory (1)for your insurance company.
Then send a copy of fitting to them.

Might be best to get a tracker fitted as well.

I collected my VXR from Picador yesterday and I had Thatcham 1 and Tracker fitted. Basically the cost of both can be saved from one years insurance premium.

Worth checking that you actually need to get a cat1 alarm/immob. My ins co don't care as they are happy that the standard item is up to scratch so saved any hassle in the 1st place.

Do your VXR's get the HSV DNA on them?? If they do, I am sure the insurance company would discount for that!

Just a warning here...........

The HSV Alarm system is embedded into the PCM and in lots of cases it causes major problems if you try and add an aftermarket system..............

The safest route is to find a new insurance company or fit the stand alone Tracker.....

The car is also sprayed in micro dots (as said above) which are specific to the car so any parts get stolen and turn up for sale you can track where they came from...............
