My rears are nearly done in and I was wondering whether I could put 245 tyres on instead of the stock 235's. What benefit or effect would this have? Is it safe? Will the speedo need recalibrating? Also is it wise/safe to have two brands on the car? I was thinking of going with Eagle F1's.
I have 245's, protect the rims now for the first time, throws the speedo the wrong way by about 3-4% but I have Road Angel so no problems for me. Tadge more expensive though, especially 255/35/18 which have a good match to stock tyres on OD which I hope to try next.
Will the 245's provide anything more though than just rim protection - like extra grip?
More contact area, with 600 foot pounds at the rear wheels 'every little bit helps'
You really do need width also ,ie 9" or 9.5"rims
What is the tyre size for the std CV8 235-40 18 ?

What size rims does the monaro have? Can they take a 245 tyre?
They can take 245 but not sure about 255 on 8" rims
