ute owners (the chosen few!!), just had my insurance re-newed with Weald Insurance. Fully comp on a commercial policy for £672. Bargain!! £167 less than last year. They may do other Holdens too.

Help please!!!! I have just sent my son's 1998 Holden Anniversary Ute (SS) to the UK for him. We cannot find anyone willing to insure it (apart from one company who wanted to charge GBP4,000 pa for third party only). Can anyone point us in the right direction? Can SS Ute please give me a contact at Weald Insurance brokers I can talk to? The ute is in the UK but until we can get insurance my son can't use it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've been with Natwest for years as they have continually given me the best deals. However I switched to Tesco this year because they only want to know 3 years history rather than the usual 5 years. It means that if you (or in my case the Girlfriend) have had any Insurance Claims over 3 years but less than 5 years, Tesco would save you money.

I would suggest that your son uses the Yellow Pages and rings around. Some people have saved money with a specialist company called 'Adrian Flux'.

I'm not sure why you're having no luck in finding an insurance company to insure your son. A couple of things that bump up insurance premiums:

* You're under 25 years old
* You have low No Claims Bonuses (NCD)
* No females are on the insurance premiums
* You've got points on your licence
* You've had an accident or claim made in the last 3-5 years
