Hello Mate,

I will be heading over to the Island on Saturday and was wondering what the costs are if I cross with the car.

I think it's about £60-£80 depending on the time of year. I would book online before you go because you will get a better deal.

How dare u call it rip-off Britain u know w're more than happy to pay a fair price for goods & services, i think £0.90/Aud$2.00 is a bargain price to pay for petrol & we should b happy it's so cheap

Depending on where you're staying i.e if you can get late night access to your accomodation, the cheapest way is the Wightlink late night flyer at 23.00.from Portsmouth. If you get there before 22.30 they may put you on an earlier sailing. That's happened to me a couple of times.
Contact them at www.wightlink.co.uk or phone 0870 582 7744
It can be expensive so be prepared. It's not known as 'the dearest stretch of water in the world' for nothing.
There's also Red Funnel from Southampton to Cowes. Don't know their fares or times but would be similar to Wightlink.

Wightlink has just been bought by an Aussie company so let's hope they start asking Aussie prices. Been using them for ages and yes it's a rip off. And don't think of getting something to eat and drink on there either,...unless you're starving after a long journey.
Trouble is they've got no competition except Red Funnel and that takes twenty minutes longer. Now where did I put Bransons phone number?
