Can anybody advise me of the difference between the 2004 VXR and 2004 CV8 engines please?
They are both 5.7L are they mapped differently or are the engines different in terms of cams, intake etc?

The 2004 VXR is a HSV product and comes with short headers and a 2.5" dual exhaust system, it also has a uprated cold air intake, maf pipe and more agressive engine map.
The 2004 Monaro is a standard Holden CV8.........
So in short change the exhaust, intake details and engine map and you will have a comparable power output on a CV8 and VXR?

So is that why the Linden Stage II is said to be a bit more powerful than a standar VXR when applied to a CV8? Or is that with Wortech remap as well?
I only ask as the figures for my Monaro would appear to be higher than the 5.7 VXR, but my mod list looks similar to whats been done to the VXR?
adding headers, cat bypass, and a good cat back system! allied with A new cold air intake, Maf pipe and engine re-map will give you more power than a 04 VXR.

Dum ass question, but i was looking at the Linden spec sheet for mine, it say 4:1 headers (from memory?) What are these headers? does that basically refer to the tubular manifolds which i must say are a woke of art!! or something else??

Yep I believe so - I had new Pacemaker headers bit different from the stock items!
you have 4 into 1 headers on your car......
they collect all 4 pipes from one bank into 1 large collector before entering the exhaust.
4 into 1 are good for HP which means they start to show power increase higher in the rev range.
3 into 2 into 1 (called tri Y's) produce better low down power.

AHHHHHHH Tri Y headers - - - more power / torque @ low down revs.
This is where a larger cube engine (like ours) will wins the day everytime - - - this is what we should be fitting to maximise TORQUE.
6th gear at 25 mph round a roundabout pulling like a steam train.
