In fairness, I have found that dealers here know about as much about Monaros as my 6 week old kitten.

A few weeks ago I popped into the "Monaro" dealership in the north off Essex to have a little look at the 6.0 VXR. Three salesmen standing outside casually informed me in a know it all fashion that the 6 litre wasn't out until september at the earliest.I then told them that in fact I knew of several owners who already had them so how would that be? They then got their dedicated monaro salesman who backed up the story until he admitted that in fact they wasn't going to get a 6 litre demo so they were pushing the 5.7 as"everyone wants those and its as good anyway" At no point did anyone ask me for my name, address, car history or the like and when i happened to mention that I had just sold a HSV after 4 years all four of them looked at me blankly until I walked off.
These cars are enthusiasts car, and need to be sold by enthusiastic car nut salesmen (like the dealers on here),not by faceless failed estate agents who couldn't give a toss.I was so angry (and frustrated)at the lack of knowledge and enthusiasm in the brand and if I was looking to buy coming from the M3/S4/TVR brigade I would have found it laughable and put my money elsewhere. This is not the first time something like this has happened (at another dealership last time!)The difference between this experience and the purchase of the Noble couldn't have been more different. This maybe slightly controversial post BUT PRESENT COMPANY EXCEPTED!
