A new Monaro. I can hardly wait.

Anyone see the item in this week's Autocar?
5.7, V8, 400bhp, slightly different body and full leather and wood trim.
Same general interior though.
All left-hand drive and all 4-speed automatic.
For £89,000.
The makers are called 'Bitter', (they made a Diplomat-based coupe in the 1970s apparently).
They've certainly been on the juice if they think anyone will buy one at that price.

Bitter have a very good reputation, I would be interested to know what they have done exactly, Autocar gave no info. but I reckon that they will have changed/altered the suspension, brakes as well as the engine. They are a bit like Brabus in that respect, but only offer complete cars which are always very exclusive/expensive.
As a school boy, I lusted after the sc coupe parked on Lansdown Crescent in Bath during the 70's. Thought then, how cool it would be to have a car no one else had!

LOL. Plenty of that around here, often based on a MK1 Corsa. Body kit usually finished in a fetching shade of primer grey.
The RHD Bitter I used to see, was as I remember very well finished, but I was used to travelling in an Austin Maxi!
Thought that Bitter stopped making cars in the 80's.
Wonder if someone has purchased the name or the co. just lay dormant?

Yes Bitter have been around since the seventies and I believe they're Swiss. First saw them at an Earls Court motor show back then. There's not many about but there is an owners club. There's a web site too. Some years ago, I saw about a dozen of them in convoy on the Isle of Wight, couldn't believe my eyes.
I don't like it.
The flowing lines, and simplistic beauty of the original Monaro shape, have been lost in the makeover. The back end and those lights are ugly, the wheel arch blisters are too big, and the front end is trying too much to look like a Maserati. A complete mismash.
I'd rather have the original :
