I've been toying with the idea of doing this as I really like the look of them. Looked on alot of Australian websites and also like the way the middle insert area is done in grey. Also seen quite a few CV8s with just this done on LS1.com.au. and they look amazing!

So ive been onto a few companies in Auz and they are quoting approx £1200 including postage for a genuine one with spots and inserts etc, This is for the HSV bumper to match my existing headlights (same as a VXR)

As a bit more research I want to find out UK prices, However, if i phone my local vauxhall dealer up im gonna have a nightmare, so can any of you guys recommend a UK dealer whos best equiped to deal with this enquiry? If indeed its possible as i have a feeling only VXR owners can buy VXR parts?? or is that a rumour?

Cheers,

Mike

VXR bits are HSV bits but a good Vauxhall dealer should not have any problems, Picador in Southampton have a well earned reputation, if no joy with parts try & get hold of Graham (if memory serves me right). LSV told me the front end for my HSV unpainted without lights was about £400.

Hi Mike

I have an 04 CV8 and I looked at trying to get the HSV front bar and rear spoiler - like the look a bit more attitude!

From past enquiries on this forum it seems HSV parts have to be orederd against the HSV build nuumber to ensure obviously only 'genuine' HSV vehilces get the bits an dus pretenders do not.

I know when looking at the 05 CV8 front bar Vauxhal were quoting £1400 possibly plus paint and fixing and the 05 front bar requires the changing of the 04 headlamp units as well making the whole job near as damn it £2k or 50% of a set of AP brakes!

I was looking last night on Oz sites and the prices appear to be similar. Yikes!

Still may be look oput for a trashed 04 VXR (with the frioont bar intact) something about rocking horse excrement springs to mind!

NOt much help but may be confirms soem of your findings.

I did find an Oz site that is basically a wreckers business and they had HSV body parts at sensible prices and I belive they ship anywhere. I will try and dig it out.

I'm happy to contact my HSV dealer in melbourne quoting my genuine HSV GTS Coupe build number if any one wants prices on anything? (GTS Coupe has the 2 tone paint scheme as distinct from the GTO Coupe(VXR). As long as we don't end up with a whole lot of clone GTS Coupe's I don't mind.. I kinda enjoy the "one off" status at present! Seriously though.. no dramas & the guys at Watson Holden look after me.

further more.. re the front bar, dont get the std HSV Coupe inserts as they are black mesh. Get some stainless mesh locally as it's easy to fit after the bar is sprayed and looks way better (obviously recommend getting the painting done here rather than Oz). When I re-sprayed my bar prior to leaving Oz to get rid of the good old stone chips, I had the guys put some stainless mesh in and u can see how much better it looks in this wedding pic..

Julian,

Thats exactly the look of front bumper i fancy.. Your car looks awesome mate!

On the other note, I am a little confused though? why do i have to change headlights? Just looked a few pics of both VXR and GTS front bumpers on Monaros as compared with CV8s they look identical? Ive noticed there are some with more pointed lights at the inner edge, but the ones im after look identical

I am not sure if the 04 VXR and 04 CV8 are the same. The discrepancy is between 04 models and 05 for CV8 anyway.

I would suggest a chat with ukhsv he WILL know for sure!

Try here www.allpanelsandparts.com.au/index1.htm

I cannot belive the prices! HSV Clubsport VT/VX front bar unpainted 880 Aus Dollars. Better check compatibility with 04CV8.

Been talikng to that company on the e-mail, very very help full & will ship to UK to!

They quoted $2000 which i think is around £900 for a genuine bumper with grills & spots... the one you refer to at $880 is apparently a high quality copy? Never been a fan of non-OE stuff myself, so going to have to swallow the higher cost of the OE stuff...

They also quoted me £170 (UK) for a CV8 rim brand new... gonna order one as a spare! I know it wont fit the boot proper but i thik it will be better than the space saver!

Still getting quote back from them on HSV 6 pot brakes... (second hand) but they have a 10 person waiting list....

If you are pricing up the AP 6 pots (HSV brakes) email these guys for a quote on their alternative..
www.racebrakes.com.au
they do heaps for HSV owners in melbourne who don't want to pay the HSV price tag but need the quality. Re body kit bits & HSV bling stuff, be wary of any after market offerings, they often just don't fit as well as the original & gaps & rattles are common once fitted.

If I can get my hands on a complete Holden Monaro CV8 conversion kit...and have it delivered to Southern Germany...can I have your old VXR parts? I'll deliver circa 13 Sept or so.

I recommend getting the brakes at Racebrakes or elsewhere and not use the actual HSV stuff there. It will be less $$$ I reckon! If they are the AP then Racebrakes can help you out.
Bumpers and other body parts, yes, genuine HSV for that. I have seen 2004 Monaro CV8 bumpers for $475 in a magazine down here. (including fog lights)

Mike,

I have access to a complete VZ Monaro Front Conversion clip.

Though I am unsure what, if any the differences are with the Vauxhall Monaros.

I'm a GTO owner in Southern Germany.
