Hello,

Just found this little forum by accident and I'm ecstatic as on the VxlSCC site I appear to be a billy no mates as they all seem to own Astra's and Vectra's and I haven't got anyone to talk to!

I've just bought a new '55 plate Devil Yellow Monaro and I haven't stopped grinning yet.. After looking at some of the recent posts here, I guess I'm not going crazy (just slightly out of pocket with fuel prices).

Looking at some of the posts, I hadn't realised how many more performance mods were available and hopefully when finances have recovered a bit, I'll be investing in some tweeks in the near future.

I haven't seen any more Monaro's on my local roads yet (North Wales Coast) but I have to say, I've never known any car get so much respect and admiration from so many people. Kind of makes you feel special...

Cheers

Paul

welcome.

all you really need to do to enjoy yourself is wait till it hits about 1kmiles, add 3 pounds of lead to your right foot and save money for tyres and fuel.

Pull up a chair and join in...

Hi Guys, Thanks for the welcome.

The car I had before this was a Calibra V6 running 197bhp after cold air and fuel induction mods plus a 30mm lowered suspension on Koni adjustables with Eibach springs and a Scorpion cat back system.

Still a very dissapointing car depsite all the hype that surrounded them. Guess in my view it was down to it being front wheel drive and poorly developed by Opel.

And before that, it was a 'humble' Capri 2.8i Special with a heavily modded suspension set up and reworked exhaust system. Up until the Monaro, it has been my all time favourite and was very nearly going to be the Calibra's replacement again but good ones are hard to find and I've now got used to creature comforts like electric windows and brakes that actually stop the car.

So, I flogged 'er indoors Astra in part exchange (fantastic deal i got from Slaters) plus some hard earned notes and I put together a little deposit for what has now affectionatly become known as 'The Mistress' as she's already got my full attention and is now taking all my cash in proposed mods.

But yeah, I'll pull up a chair, ask some questions when I can think of a sensible one, put in my point of view and hopefully get to meet some of you in the future at some meets? Island Boy - Yes, some VERY nice roads here in Wales....

Cheers, Paul

Cheers Mike

Let me know when you might be about.

I only live less than 5 minutes drive from Slaters (less of a distance to push it if it goes wrong!)
