Upgrade. I would go for AP's, but search this forum as brakes have been discussed in detail in the past.
Good decision to switch from a M3, much more fun to be had in Monaro.

Definately upgrade. AP's are best by all accounts can get full set with 6pots at front and 4 at rear fitted for about £2500. Caspy is a contributer to this forum he has the details I believe on this specific package which is the same as the HSV AP upgrade in Oz.

Why buy a Monaro and then spend a fortune to make it go when you can purchase a genuine Holden Special Vehicle with all the kit installed,ie my HSV GTS-R with more power and grunt than you could handle!!!
All M3s disappear in rear mirror.

Pomana, you are preaching to the converted,AGH is one of my best mates and I sold my 'R' 4 months ago! Unfortunately for you, I think he prefers the shape of the Monaro and doesn't need the 4 doors like I did. by alla counts yours is a cracker though!

The CV8 brakes are not up to much!

If your quite gentle on the brakes you may find them OK, but given any serious work, they will soon give up.

For further information on the AP brake upgrade vist the AP brake page at: www.monkfishperformance.com

I swapped a CSL for my CV8 and its a blast.

The standard brakes are pretty reasonable, buy the car, drive it and see for yourself.

If you are going to track it then you might find a conversion useful but for road use, its not essential.

Mine is absolutely standard

The CSL was more frenetic, brakes were much better, handling sharper, felt quicker - but much less comfortable, much smaller, much more noisy and not that special. Faced with a long drive the train became a desirable alternative.

I actually sold it and had a E39 M5 for a month or so, and that was very similar to the Monaro.

Key point being a demo model CV8 is the same money as a tired M5 or half the price of a CSL.
