Heads up to all the new Monaro owners on here...
Want brighter headlights? With the nights drawing in, now is a good time do this cheap, simple and very effective mod:

Essentially you replace the H11 driving light bulbs (the dipped headlights) with H9 bulbs, which are the same ones used in the main beam units. You get the same projection shape, just a lot brighter. I've just done this, the difference is well worth it, especially as the standard lights are pretty dim by modern standards.
To make the H9 fit the H11 connector and mounting, you have to modify the bulb by cutting a plastic lug out of its connector, and snipping off a small piece of metal from its surround. Just compare the H9 to the H11 and make the H9 the same so it fits.

I've bought some new H9 equivalents from Ring that are 61W and 50% brighter than standard. Cost me £25 from local store. Going to fit them this weekend and will report back on how it goes. Store owner fitted them to his BMW and said difference was incredible. Suggested replacing the full beam with these new bulbs as well - indeed he also replaced his fog/driving lights with them he was so impressed with the improvement.
