Other members have posted about their experiences about the different tuners so I thought it about time, and well overdue, to do the same. I write this as just my own view of a great company which others can use to make informed decisions in future.

Like many before me; earlier in the year I threw down the gauntlett and went down the tuning route with new CAI, Headers, Sports Stainless Cats, 2.5" Stainless Exhaust and a remap to suit. I wanted the V8 rumble that was severely lacking with the original hardware. I had to make tough a decision as to which tuner I took the car to but in the end I decided on WRC because:

* WRC got raving reviews from Scooby & Evo mates saying their setup (workshop) was second to none
* At that time, WRC were the only tuner to have a rolling road onsite
* WRC have a Dyno-Dynamics Certified Engineer
* WRC were on the way to my parents house so I could leave the car with them on the Monday and pick it up on the Saturday which suited me perfectly
* WRC were the only tuner to offer 3" Headers (Di-Filippo) as standard
* WRC have embraced modern technology. They respond to emails quickly and are willing to do business the 21st Century way (EMail/WWW/Internet).

I work nights and as such found email to be a key factor in my decision making. In my line of work (computing) it is second nature to expect to do business via the internet or email. I do about 80% of my work this way. Unfortunately, I don't have the luxury or time of being able to speak to people during the day because I'm usually sleeping. This form of communication meant I could keep in touch when it was convenient for me. EMail allowed WRC to send me pictures of the car whilst the work was being carried out so I could see what was going on and make decisions without having to travel to them. Nice one WRC!! You never know, maybe WRC will put a web cam in the garage so you can see your car being worked on. Now there's an idea!

I couldn't believe how well the car performed after this initial work. It did everything, and more, than initially predicted. Considering this was their first Commodore based car they'd done in the UK the results were impressive. Unfortunately the work had taken it's toll on the aging O2 sensors and spark plugs. Old spark plugs caused misfires which was quickly resolved at the time by upgrading the plugs & leads. The O2 sensors caused the the MIL light to come on occasionally which knocked the fuel trims out. This became aparant after I picked the car up and drove it home. All credit to WRC they agreed to replace them and re-tune the car free of charge which they dutifully did last week. The delay was my fault, not theirs. The O2 sensor issue was the reason my car didn't do as well as expected on the Dyno-Day. We had tried the O2 Sensors from the Monaro as a test but my car disliked them even more. Before I had the latest work done I fitted the CS Performance smooth carbon fibre MAF pipe to the car in an attempt to get better performance from the new mapping. Little did I know that WRC are now the official UK reseller for these pipes. DOH! As I write this there's a shipment of pipes being made and sent to WRC for stock. Craig Saunders (CS Performance) also informs me that he's launching more products that should hopefully make it to WRC soon.

The latest parts & maps have not gained me much in the way or rwkw, but they have increased the torque. I asked WRC to tune the car for 95RON fuel rather than 97,98,or 99 because as a daily runner I can't afford to put Super Unleaded in the car at todays prices. I'm extreamly pleased with the results. I fueled up on Monday for the first time since the most recent work and got a nice suprise. Before the most recent tune I used to get 330miles reported by the 'Distance To Empty' screen but this time it stated 420! If this turns out to be even half true I'll be exstatic. So far, so good. A whole week without refueling. That was unheard of before.

What's next? Apart from upgrading the brakes that's about it for me. I don't need any more power and I'd rather save my money for the new Monaro.

Such is the friendliness and openness of WRC I tend to drop in when passing just to find out what's new. My visit last week found their '04 Monaro up on the ramps being fitted with a new exhaust system which they are now selling. They have two Borla cat-back system available to suit the individuals noise requirements. Either Allan has lost his marbles or the stress of running a business has finally broken him, but he stated that he's selling these systems VAT Free as a special introductory offer. From memory, the systems are £795(inc Delivery) or £825(inc Fitting). Tuning would be extra, but they have the site facilities to do it quickly if required.

I guess I can't say too much right now but the words "carbon fibre drive shaft", "multi-grade-pad braking systems", and "LS2 Tuning" are on the horizon. I belive there's some exciting times ahead for us Commodore, HSV, and Monaro owners with lots of products currently under testing.

Based on my experience of WRC I wouldn't hesitate in recommending them to anyone. Their ability to look after the customer and fix any issues that may arrise is a great ability that I applaud. Keep up the great work WRC.

I would also agree with comm ss,i have found both alan and Chris to be very helpful in tuning my auto Ute.They certainly know there stuff and i am very pleased at the performance upgrades.The Ute now very responsive and after each upgrade they dyno the car so you can see as well as feel the diference.This was important to me as anyone can claim an upgrade will give more hp,but WRC can prove it with there in house dyno.I am now up to 398bhp and i'm saving for a cam.
Thanks again Alan and Chris
