Hi guys, with the Later Mate Cruise looming I spent a good few hours turning the Clubby from a daily drive road muck holder into a nice car again. However, my lovely new shiny Wortec/AP Racing brakes look the nuts apart from the rear hubs, from which I cant seem to remove the rust coloured areas. Its not actually rusting, just discoloured where it gets hot and wet every bloody day. Any advice on how to clean it as I know a couple of you are in the trade???

An old man once told me: Put some light oil (eg sewing machine oil - not canola) on a rag once your chosen surface is clean, then wipe the rag over it leaving an oily residue behind and protecting it from rust. Some people I know do that machines they are storing for winter or similar. No idea if it works or how to apply it to your hubs tho.

If it's the hub itself, I would paint it to give a clean surface and the rust should remove with alloy wheel cleaner (Meg's wheel brightener is great) or similar rust removing fluid.

Hi Mike,
Nice to meet you today, those brakes do indeed look the ducks guts. There was some nice machinery there.
Looking forward to seeing some photos.
