Just got my new car today a monaro 2004. I was sitting at a junction with my foot on the brake for around 2 min, busy junction. After that the (abs fault traction control off) light came up on the screen. Is there anything i can check myself ?

Cheers

Might sound stupid but check that the traction control is ON. I assume that it's switchable on/off like the HSV's otherwise I'll remove the egg from my face!

"abs fault traction control off" implies that the ABS is the cause of the fault and has disabled TC as a result (Cause + Effect), or at least that's my interpretation anyway.

If this is the case then the most likely cause is an ABS sensor fault.

Multiple causes are likely but the best bet is to have someone with an OBD scanner verify the PCM Error code.
