As we all know, the Monaro won't be available after next year. So, what would make a good alternative? I reckon this might (ignore the General Lee makeover if you can!).

OK, so it's a modified Dodge Charger seen at the SEMA show in the US (the production car is a four-door), but if Dodge were to put something like this into production in RHD, would you be interested? Don't forget, it probably runs a 6.1 litre Hemi

I'd certainly give one garage space

BTW, do we know for sure if the Monaro will make a return in the future? I know the next generation Commodore (that IS what it's based on, right) is due in a year or so, so does that mean no new Monaro until at least '08?

Also, can you guys ensure you all look after you Monaros as ONE WILL BE MINE (in 4-5 years or less, hopefully)

Here's the back view.

Don't get too excited. By the looks of things (check out the license plate) this one was done by West Coast Customs (yes, the boys from MTVs Pimp My Ride!). Still, if Dodge have any sense they'll realise this is sooooooooooo much nice than their frumpy 4-door version and put something similar on sale.

Looks like a more aggressive Chrysler 300c. Don’t get me wrong there is nothing wrong with that but it doesn’t float my boat. I prefer something a little more understated!

Richard.

There may be a 2 door Charger - it'll be called the Challenger though. So you may yet see that as a production car. Possibly. Maybe.

Personally I'd wait for the 2008 Monaro/GTO.. that may be nice.

Anyone got any scoop shots of the next Monaro then, or is it a bit too early?

But you already have a Charger, you can't need two Yank tanks and a Holden too?

Well, need might not be the right term. Want is probably more accurate!!!!

Another good shot of the Challenger (scroll to the bottom of the page)

And an interesting rendering of the '08 Pontiac GTO. I don't like the headlights, but the rest is very nice.
