This pac consists of an engine management system re-map., cat back exhaust, cold air intake modification, MAF pipe and performance air filter.
Is there a decent performace increase , i feel the car isn't as quick as it could be.
My car is a 2004

Cheers

You will think you are driving a different car when done. Transforms it!

If I remember correctly that pack takes the 04 CV8 up to around 400-410bhp. Having had a chance to drive Dave52's car with his upgrades thats around a similiar spec its a very very different car altogether. When you switch the damn thing on it feels like it wants to explode off the line, then you put it in gear and try not to smile like a lunatic when you let the clutch out.

Now I've got my car back on the road we'll need to arrange to meet up sometime Ross. Jeff's hoping to meet up with Dave and I around the 1st Feb if you're available. Location to be decided. Theres also a big meeting of the Vectra and Astra owner's clubs on the 26th Feb at the Showcase Cinema in Coatbridge I'll be attending. They reckon on 30-40 Vauxhalls turning up for that.

The sport pac which we currently have on my dad's car gives 390bhp on an 04 CV8 (dyno graphs to prove) and as caspy says it totally transforms the car. Only problem is you WILL want more and the temptation of headers will soon take over!

how much extra do the headers offer? They enough to push it up over the 400 mark? Course once it goes faster then you need it to handle better and stop quicker as well :-) Time to start hunting around for a VXR owner that's fitted the AP brake upgrade and buy their old stoppers from them.

With headers mine made 416hp and 415lbsft torque.

I would go straight there if I was you. I would also recommend getting your hands on any 05VXR suspension that might be going spare but brakes definately first and a must IMHO.

Have fun I guarantee you will not regret it!

Standard 6.0 VXR is only a couple of BHP behind that, just wondering how the two would compare performance wise?

I would imagine that the CV8 would have more power throughout the range due to the increased air flow and engine map. The main advantage the 05 VXR (LS2) has over the LS1 engined cars (apart from the 0.3L advantage) is the LS6 style heads along with a slightly more aggresive cam. You could swap some LS6 heads into an LS1 with a decent sized cam and see some very tasty increases in HP (maybe 70+) which coupled with headers, cat-back and engine map would see you making some very decent power for probably a lot less than you would otherwise pay for an 05 VXR (as nice as they are!).

....but you can do exhaust and remap on 6.0vxr to take to 450 in one hit. The 6.0 car has better torque lower down than the 5.7 as well.
