VXR Engine Oil

Can anyone tell me EXACTLY what oil I need to be buying to top up before main service? I still havent got the user manual for my car so cant refer to that. Guy at Halfords was very helpful saying that I would need to be looking at something like 10W 30?? IIRC, theengine oil was topped up about 1500m ago and dash is sending out a SERVICE - ENGINE OIL message.

While I remember, I've also got an Air Bag warning light that keep flashing on and off, is this a known problem??

My manual says SAE 10W-30, 10W-40, 10W-50

Along the same lines... What should the Oil Pressure be? Shows you a nice pic in the manual but doesn't tell you what it should be

There are two warnings the dash will flash up, one is 'SERVICE ENGINE OIL' one is 'CHECK ENGINE OIL'. If it is the service one it would suggest an oil change is required based on usage, cold starts etc as the PCM has a oil life calculator. Check the dipstick, you might not need to top up. Factory fill is as per the oil filler cap, Mobil 1 10w-30.

I have always assumed that the it should be in the middle (where it usually is) 'cause either side would then indicate too low/high

I use 5-40W fully synthetic

Oil spec been covered but can I stress you must must must get the engine oil changed at 10,000miles maximum , and check the oil regularly after the 5000 mile mark
