Hi all
Need some info about wheels on my HSV GTS-R

How do you remove fake split rim blots? they appear to be plastic as couple heads snapped, I need to get wheels refurbed and must take these out first. Also anyone know paint code for wheel rims?

Anyone refurbed theirs?!!

Cheers
Nick

Your GTS-R rims do NOT split. They are one piece.

You could find out original wheel supplier to HSV, or take sample of bolt head and bolt diameter to an engineering supplier and see if they come close, then drill out the bolt left in wheel

Hi ya Andy
Having bit of a mare getting places to do refurb main problem is getting the paint to match, most of places I have sent pics to included wicked won't touch'em, found alittle place near me which reckons they can do for me but fake bolts must come out. Paint they said is closet is colour called sparkling glass(£100 a ltr.£70per wheel all in)seems original colour hard to get .If there be a colour code kicking about would maked things easier. Even been to 2 paint specialists in swindon that supply body shops and trade etc.. no do from them aswell. Best option is either get different colour or closest match.

As for the fake bolts I'll rip em out heat up / melt remaining plastic bits and once wheels done tap holes and put proper cap heads in with the old loctite which should do trick.
At one point I was considering taking in to work and doing myself through the spray booths and oven but don't think I'd get past security

Plastic false bolts can be removed with a bit of care....have in past removed all and replaced with annodised jobbies! Painstaking and didn't look any better.

Hi Doug

Sussed fake bolt removal - drill out centre of bolt and keep going (18mm total length) using small wood drill (4/5mm) so didn't drill alloy then pulled out with pliers on bolt head out they come as no meat in middle all collapses and comes out.
4 down 86 to go!!!!!!!!!

Cheers For the Gen Everyone

Its a long shot but you could try these guys for paint info (or anything else to do with wheels). They are in Perth so not that convenenient but I had some expensive 17" DTM rims on my alfa that had been curbed to death and had a brushed stainless finish on the outside of the rim. They were also dented (truck full of porter loos ran me off the road on Stirling Highway - its ok Coates Hire picked up the tab) and a couple of them also had flat spots in them (expensice = fragile). Alliance refurbed them including the flat spots, the dent from the loo incident, the paint on the spokes AND the brushed stainless finish to look like new and I now recomend them to anyone and everyone. Only $100 a wheel too. They are at: Alliance Rim Repairs, WA, NORTHBRIDGE, (08) 9328-8373
