Holden badges or not?
Discussion
Quick survey.....
Can't decide whether to change my Vauxhall badges for the Holden ones. I quite like the "blimey, it's a Vauxhall!" effect, but I also like the idea of the mystery and rarity of the Holden numbers.
So...over to you lot, change to Holden or not?? Most votes by the end of the week decides it.

I'd change them quick to holden if it were my choice. I just hate the way GM are branding trash cars with the chevrolet badge. In the UK you assume a chevy to be something powerful, not some little run around. This rebadging will ruin the vauxhall/GM name as well, not that it's anything cool in the first place (vauxhall).

I changed mine faster than a wet diaper! Funny thing. When you take the Vauxhall badge from the front lying underneath is the Holden Lion just waiting for it's orginal (and proper) chrome badge
Shame though about not being able to change the steering wheel badge - it's the only one you can see from inside - and that is a pain!

That's another reason for not changing them, that and the VAUXHALL display you get when you switch the ignition on.
Surely it wont fool anyone and just looks messy (to be polite about it)?
What do you mean 'fool anyone?' Surely it's Vauxhall fooling everyone else into thinking they built a rip snorting muscle car when actually all they did was ship it over from Australia and slap a few Vauxhall badges on it? Also, it's only me who sees the Vauxhall badge on the steering wheel, everyone else sees the exterior...
Respect to Vauxhall for bringing it here, but lets not forget the cars true heritage...
Yes on the badges BTW!

Put it this way, if I saw a vauxhall for sale, any vauxhall it wouldn't catch my eye. Vauxhall make astras, novas and corsas. Basically a load of budget crap. If I saw a holden for sale I'd take note straight away. No choice imo. Be badged as a cheap and nasty vauxhall product or something a bit more funky and exclusive over here, Holden.

Doubt it.Take any make, take the badges off it's still a whatever.IMO
Oh aye, that's fair in that scenario - just when all the VW's were having their badges nicked in the mid 90's, they were still VW's.
But, change the badging to something it doesn't say on the V5, then how do we stand?
Dunno tbh.

MMMMMMMM have to think about that one................................................
OK thought about it. FECK EM!!!!!
Amazing!!!
Having watched BMW's, MERCS etc slated on here, and told that they are bought by people who buy the badge not the car, it appears we have our own forum based badge snobs!!
I would also wager that a Griffin would beat a Lion in a fight anyday!!!
PS
Just another pertinent point. More people recognise the Vauxhall Brand than the Holden or HSV in the uk. Keep your badges and replace when you come to sell. Holden etc badges on a Vauxhall car will raise a potential doubt in the mind of a purchaser. 'Is it an import ?' 'Am i being fed a line ?' etc etc
Two identical cars on the used forecourt or in the Autotrader, Vauxhall will sell before the Holden, all things being equal.

If it was me, I would buy a Holden before a Vauxhall. Maybe its just to be a little different, but perhaps its also because I'd know it isnt a Vauxhall anyway. Vauxhall were just trying to improve their image with the Monaro, and its great they went to the effort to bring it here. But why disguise what the car really is ?
Holden have produced some nice cars over the years. Some may have similarities with Vauxhall, but are also very different.
What have Vauxhall produced ?

I quoted your comments nearly 2 years ago and everyone slated me then.I praised vauxhall for having the balls to bring them here.
