Hi everyone,

Have finally got myself a log in after having seen the site for a couple of months now. During a recent trip back to Oz (Melbourne) had the wonderful experience thanks to my wife and Monarent, of driving the 2005 CV8 (Devil Yellow) for a couple of days. Took the Great Ocean road down to Warrnambool. THE MONARO was really terrific and NOW I just "Gotta have one". Problem is I live in Europe. Need to have left hand drive.

So what are my options?
I think it's Caspy, can you get a left hand drive VXR? Or I guess my option is the Pontiac GTO from the states. Have spoken with a local importer and maybe can get. Question is What are the key differences between CV8, VXR and Pontiac GTO. I saw quite a few mails on Brakes being an issue, is this also for the GTO?

Have many more questions but will leave it there for now.
Great website/forum. Hope someone can help me out, cause I just got to get this car into Europe.

Cheers.

I've recently visited the Orlando Pontiac dealer, specifically to check out the (2006 LS2) GTO and there wasn't a lot of difference to the Vauxall. The seats were very comfertable

It was retailing for about $33,000 but i'm sure if you went over there, you could strike a deal if the thread regarding the GTO sales is true. (www.hsv.org.uk/topic.asp?t=246992&f=69&h=27)

Hi Bo55,

When you say similar to the vauxhaul do you mean the VXR or monaro. What were the brakes like. Also I noticed from photos they don't seem to have the electronic controls for the airconditioning.

Did you see any with the front spoiler kit and grill inserts as the pontiac nose is pretty plain.(downright ugly actually)

Does anyone know if the RIP SHIFTER will fit the american shift pattern. (Also appears to be different, from what I could see.)

Sorry Lux, didn't look at it that close. I will say that it was a 6Ltr so that would point to a VXR. Brakes looked similar to VXR stuff

I agree the front does look a bit boring but it did have a nice wing and single (large) pipes coming out the back.

You might glean info off the Pontiac site with their 360 pictures

Thanks. The site doesn't give terrific views of the car though. As for the colour match for the bronze, it's way off. The colour is more like a dark gold metalflake, not the flat they indicate.
