This month's Evo mag has a section dedicated to cars recently gone out of production.......and the Monaro gets a page and a bit to itself

Interestingly, in the long term test fleet John Barker got 22.5 MPG for the past 10 months, VXR 6.0.
Mustang GT gets 19.4. AM V8 Vantage 17.3. Hyundai Coupe 24.8. 911 Carrera 2 23.7.
Lambo Murcielago 10

Is 20mpg plus realistic? I hope so, 'cos better fuel economy is about the only good excuse I've got for getting a Monaro (currently only get 17mpg outta the Zed).

Just come back from a trip to the west country, mainly A303 at 80mph & M3, averaged 25.4mpg in total.
Backwards & forwards to work (Windsor to maidenhead) averages about 22mpg for the week.

Dave52 reckons he gets nearer 35mpg if he obeys speed limits on motorways (which of course he always does) now he's had his car tuned properly. I'd suggest thats a good enough argument to not only buy a Monaro but also to spend a couple of grand and get it properly setup.
