I am just clarifying whether Vauxhall are issuing this as a UK recall/correction.

Will confirm later.

Vauxhall WILL be issuing a rework notice for affected cars within a cpl of weeks. They are currently working on communication method to owners and obtaining parts (if needed) for the rework.

I will keep all informed. This is a precaution only and you shouldnt be overly concerned in the interim.

from that website it appears there is a fairly simple fix we can carry out ourselves if we are concerned about the problem - it only occurs if the earth wire under the seats has come loose - ie just take a look and see if there's a wire floating about thats come loose, if there is screw it back down, problem solved or is that too obvious?

but the recall will be carried out free of charge by qualified mechanics - they will know exactly what to do and have all the relevant parts, tools and knowledge.

Any info regarding this would be appreciated. A friend has a 04 Monaro, but returning to a dealer isnt really an option for this work, as we are in Northern Ireland. ( well unless we happen to be travelling over to the mainland anyway )
