Crikey it's gone quiet on here. Where is everyone?!?
In an effort to stimulate a bit of conversation....

Is anyone planning to take their HSV/Holden/Monaro to Le Mans this year? If so, when are you travelling and which campsite are you in?
I'm going down on the Thurs and staying in Maison Blanche. Unfortunately it's my mate's turn to drive so we should be going in his MGA, but....it is in several pieces at the moment and it might not be ready for June! If we do go in mine I think I'll be fitting the alternative LOUD centre sections of the exhaust for the weekend.

I didn't have the Monaro last year, but I do remember seeing Will's V8HSV and a blue Ute out near Indianapolis on the Friday.

Yep I am going but going with Father in Law in his supercharged AM V8. As part fo the owners club we get to take it round the full race circuit on the Saturday of the race.

Best part is his car is faster than DB9 and Vanquish.

Staying in the Blue campsite.

Hope its a bit cooler than last year!

Sean,

Sounds good! What colour/reg is the AM?...I'll keep a look out for it.
Yeah, last year was a bit of a scorcher. Don't really mind how hot it gets, as long as it stays dry!

Cheers,

Yep totally on being dry! Only had once in about 10 visits over the years.

Hope its not wet - don't want to stuff my in laws pride and joy into armco!

Reg is AMV 550 and its a sort of metallic darkish blue with big noise. Regularly sets of car alarms when passing with a good prod on the loud pedal.

I'll be going in my blue 04 CV8 - can't wait!

We stay in the city centre, but we'll be parking in a reserved spot in the Expo car park quite near to the museum. As usual we'll be out and about during the race itself, including seeing in the dawn at Mulsanne Corner.

This will be my first Le Mans in a decent car since I sold my integrale, my 10th overall.

I've never been all the way round the track though you Aston guys are so lucky. One day maybe HSV will put a works entry in then the UK owners club might get a chance for a spin!!!!

Yep would be good to get an HSV convoy - although I have a lowly Holden albeit with some HSV and other intersting bits.

Reckon it would cause a real stir all those V8's - make a change from the ubiquitous TVR brigade.

Will keep my eyes peeled for you too Martin. If I'm not in my car I'll be in a red MGA roadster.

Entry list for 2006 has now been published on the official website - see www.lemans.org

Looks like it's going to be a cracker, with good battles throughout the field and some new motors to add variety in the GT categories too.

Also, for those of you who can't make it down, Motors TV is showing the whole race live this year....get the beers in!!!
