Performance Vauxhall is next weekend at Santa Pod and Billing is July 8th/9th at the Billing Aquadrome.

I always go to both with my Calibra. Probably the last time I'll be taking the old girl before I break her for parts

Anyway, it'll be good to see anyone up there. I'm sure we can arrange a meeting point/time.

I'll be on the AutobahnStormers stand with my Silver Omega. Don't have an LC anymore.

you're not seriously going to break that calibra are you - that would be criminal. surely you could sell it on complete to an enthusiast?

used to go when I had the Calibra, but there isn't much HSV/Monaro related stuff to tempt me to go these days. Probably because I'm getting older and everybody else seems to be getting younger there!

Only fun to be had is watching the Nova's and Cavaliers blowing their engines and gearboxes on the strip.

Yeah I have to break it. It's worth about £20k in parts alone... I think I'd get about £3k if I try to sell it whole. Hell, the engine alone is worth more than that! Besides - if I don't break it, the next person to own it will and the engine will still end up in a Nova. It's just wrong!

Well I'll be at both shows. I'll come along to the bahnstormers and say "Hi!"

Yep, we will be there with the ute. Hoping to give it a run up the strip too. Hoping to improve on my previous pod outing

My last car before the Monaro was a v6 Calibra auto. One of the best cars I have owned...

Anyway, never been to Billing or VPCC type events. Is my stereotype correct in as much as it is full of chavs who have spent 50k on a 1.1 Nova?

..or am I too old??

Regards,
Richard.

Your stereotype is wrong, granted, there are a lot of tricked up Novas etc but there will be a good variety of other stuff too including LCs, Droop Snoots, Bedford trucks etc...

I will be there for both. I'll be with Lotus Carltonless. Looking to check out how many bags of cement Monkfish will be running to keep the wheels on the ground??!!??. As for age - don't worry about it.

What an interesting name for a car! www.droopsnootgroup.org.uk

I think I will give Billing a whirl and see what it is like.

Any other Monaros going?

Regards,
Richard.
