Looking to put a cat back on the Monaro. Something to make it sound more like a V8 should but not too much volume. Any ideas?

I fitted the Wortec one to my 04 CV8 a month ago. I love V8's, especially Chimera's, so wanted that kind of noise. But my 4 year old daughter hates noisy things - she cried last year at the prospect of a ride in a de-cat'd Evo !! But I have to say the Wortec system is a perfect compromise. I barely listen to the radio since I fitted it, and when it's sunny just open the windows and drink in the grumble . If you can make it to Donnington I'm sure you'll be able to hear plenty of versions across the full Monaro range.

Yep...wortec all he way for me as well... What's more, if you are concerned about sound levels, you can choose to put in the centre boxes for "stealth mode"

My shiney stainless centre boxes from my Wortec system decorate my garage quite nicely, can't think of any other use for them!!

I put some sound/video clips here (scroll down) when I was looking for mine.

Ended up with an SLP LoudmouthII from the US. It's damn loud, but it does drone between 1800-2000rpm.

Forgot to add that if you go for headers as well, the loudness increases again and the tone deepens.

Got DiFillipo's on mine, but most people have gone with Wortec .

see my other post, Wortec have a new system available which comes with interchangeable centre boxes to make it quieter or loud.

i had one fitted today and its tremendous. I swear its also much less restrictive as the car feels much keener to rev with the new system

Happy +++++++

Another vote for Wortec here Awesome system, better than the alternatives I've used including custom systems.

Like the sound of that. There are times when you want loud!!! and others (long cruises) where it's nice not to get the "droning" so having the interchangeable centre would be great! How much was it?

Notice you are in kent, if you wanted to pop in and listen sometime, it would be nice to meet you.

Hi caspy, mine is actually the 2002 Holden Monaro CV8 probably identical to the 04 apart from the interior. Are you around on a Saturday morning at all? or just week days. thanks

Normally just during the week. I can get one of the guys to look after you. Dont have a 04 system'd car here this weekend. Will have a 05 car you can listen to though.

You will absolutely Love it! I went to the Melbourne F1 in 99 and it blew my mind! I've seen all sorts of racing but no other car racing compares to the sheer speed/power/noise of those things in full fright!!

Which model CV8 have you got bennno ? I'm sure the boys at Monkfish told me the boxes were only interchangeable on the 05 models.
