and I'm very sorry to your other half who's name completely escapes me (I didn't immediately write it down you see )

Met these Monaro owning/driving guys at Greens this morning and had a real good chinwag with them.

They currently view the board but don't post...would be cool if we could all encourage them to say hi like.

Well worth posting as well as viewing.

Never thought I would be in a car owners club but I guess this is what we are.

Sad but true? Been very very helpful so far so not sad at all IMO especially after wetting myself re the Kofi Anann post

Hello Big Nige, This is our first post after owning the car for a year. Nice to meet you and have a chat at Greens. We have been viewing the forum since we have had the car and found some very useful information. Now we have introduced ourselves, a big hello to all the other members aswell.

Welcome Pete & Martin

So, care to share with us what Monaro you have?

As BO55 says, why don't you join us at Silverstone and meet all the nutters?

Dads got an 05 CV8. (i help out with the upgrades as i want to buy it in a few years time)Curently we have had the Wortec remap and a 3.9 diff fitted. In the next couple of weeks we hope to have the racelogic traction control fitted. Also looking at the forced induction route as it seems to be the best bhp/pound gains that you can get at the moment.

We found the diff made a big difference. Standard we thought 1st and 2nd gears felt a bit lazy and the car did'nt seem to get into its stride until 3rd. 6th felt a bit like an overdrive that could only be used comfortably above 65-70 without feeling the need to change down when you got to a slight incline on the motorway or overtaking. With the 3.9 fitted 1st and 2nd were really brought to life and you can use 6th alot earlier. It will now cruise at 50-55 in 6th if you want to. It has not effected the fuel consumption and it still records figures of 30mpg on the motorway. Infact i would say in town driving it may of gone up 1-2 mpg (this was the excuse used to buy one)
The re map gave it an extra 30bhp, in gains of performance/acceleration i would say the diff would be worth 45-50bhp relativley speaking.
Overall we are really pleased and would definatley recommend it.

Hope this has helped you.

Very helpful thankyou. Convinced it was the right way to go and that it would increase performance. Good to hear first hand how it 'feels'.

Interestingly I am also going for a Racelogic Traction Control upgrade. With the extra power IMo it makes a sensible option.
