Has the LSV dynograph been published yet for the supercharged CV8 anywhere? I've been browsing the LS1 GTO forum and those guys are putting out some serious figures and doing some amazing mods on their motors.
Ddi a quick search on here re superchargers and it appears that the HSV boys are the only ones so far too have done this except Tiler I think?
What are all your views on this?

Jeff.

Hi guys and girls,

We are having trouble in posting the Dyno graph for the LSV small supercharger, so if you want to send us your private email and I will send you a jpeg of the printout.

We have already done three small superchargers in this short time and the clients are loving it!! Don't forget we have our demo car available for testing.

Cheers

How much extra to customise the mounting plate for an iron block?

Hi,
The system can be fitted to your car as the Iron Engines run lower compression, so just call me in the morning and we can discuss the modifications to the kit.

If fitted to your car should make 400 - 450 bhp at the flywheel.

Speak tomorrow

Gawp eek That looks mighty impressive. I'm sure there will be loads of sensible technical questions but for idiots like me can you let me know :

a) What car and engine it was fitted to
b) What other mods the car had
c) If this is the small supercharger that everyone is talking about i.e. the one that costs about £3000?

I still dont understand how you get a power increase of 1.57 with a pressure ratio of about 1.35
(In other words 57% more power by feeding only 35% more air in)
Can you clarify how that is achieved please.

Not saying the figures are right or wrong...

But in response to Eliots post.

A n/a car could make say 300bhp standard, and s much as 350bhp with a decent re-map...

Pressure at WOT hasnt changed a single bit there.

So I dont think its as simple as the comparison you are making. I'm sure altering timing and fuelling, could yield many different power figures, for the same boost pressure with their blower kit..

Which does sound like pretty good value..

Good luck with it !

Assuming we started with 333 bhp stated in the graph, 35% more air would yield no more than 449bhp at 100% efficiency and no power loss driving the s/c - we know that's not possible. Hence why I wanted the details of the tune / dyno runs clarified.
Base power before s/c would need to be a fair bit over 400bhp to achieve 533bhp - which we know can be done, but the graph as posted doesn't illustrate that fact. Correct me if i'm talking poo.

got one :-)

532bhp and 500lb/ft on normal petrol! - dont know how accurate the dyno is but certainly feels plenty quick. Dynos vary wildly even more so if forced induction is being used - suggest that everyone uses them as a guide only - sure great for talking about in the pub.... but in the real world unless the same road and same conditions used provides little in accurate comparisons

only mods are charger and stainless exhausts.

Thought it had a slight miss on the remap initially - until i realised it was the traction control kicking in in third (in the dry)

For the price i dont think you can beat it.

only niggle is location of airfilter - a bit low down so ford crossings cant be done - not exactly an everyday occurance but may prove problematic in winter up north

Thanks to Mark at Linden for sorting it out so quickly for me - much appreciated

Glad you are pleased, if you want cool air it must be near the ground, presume the cone filter is resting inside the front air dam. Need to ease off in torrential rain though & do not go through fords!
