Yes!

Front chassis rails next to back of engine, subframe mounts, box section/front chassis rail join and inner and outer sill join are the likely problem areas.

We have done a couple, but that also included application of 2 pack seam sealer to all the panel joins underneath prior to a wax like coating as well as application of dinitrol to all the box sections.

But as a minimum, do all the box sections, this will certainly slow the rust down, but do any welding first!!! Waxoyl burns well!

Don't the Uk cars come with a 6 year perforation warranty and are undersealed by Vauxhall anyway?

marcevo1 is talking about an HSV GTS. About 6/7 years old.

cheers roger

yes it does burn well - i can remember it well...... my dad welding and me(about 8 at the time) looking up at the ramp thinking thats a lot of smoke?.... sisters old renault 9 which ended up about 7.5 ;-)

may sound a daft question but rust restorers ie the reducing agent paints (cure rust type things) - worth applying to rusty areas prior to waxing?

Not the original 4dr HSV's. I waxoyled my VT. The VX had better protection, but still not really enough for the U.K.
