£14k Monaro on ebay
Discussion
The seller ended this listing early because the item is no longer available for sale.
It was up at starting bids of 12.5k - clearly the guy wanted rid asap and has sold it somewhere else. Doesn't help rest of us with trade-in pricing etc if people keep selling off cheap - at that kind of price we're going to have 21yr old scooby owners joining our ranks

Yeah, this sudden rash of cheapo prices is an absolute pain in the arse. I've just knocked down the price of my machine on the Piston Heads advertising site, because although I thought the original price was pretty fair for such a beast, it was looking pricey compared with that £15K give-away on there.
Thankfully that's now sold, although even at that price it'll cost the new owner a hell of a lot more to bring it up to the spec of my car than the price difference as it stands now. You pays your money and takes your choice, I guess...

Is that the 400bhp blue one?
I bought the £15k red one and I'm very happy. The seller wanted shot of it quickly and wasn't getting any interest so dropped the price. It's bog standard apart from the VXR brakes but to be honest I'd have done the brakes before any engine mods anyway. I'll probably get the Wortec sport pack fitted at some point but since this is my first properly powerful car I'm happy to get used to 333bhp before I do! I think my main motivation is to get the proper V8 noise, it's just a tad too quiet as standard.
I'm hoping values won't go below £10k in the next few years though. Either way it's a much better buy than a Focus ST which 2nd choice.

Supply and demand.
People usually only hold onto cars for a few years, then sell them on. Too many sellers and not enough buyers. Petrol prices and group 20 insurance dont help.
Monaro CV8 prices in NZ are around £11,000 to £13,000 so prices here at £14 or £15K are about right.
There are a couple of 02 models around for under £10,000

I think the 04 CV8's are a bargain at the mo, although owning both cv8 and vxr there is a big difference in the way they drive, perform and handle.
If i still had my CV8 then i would just keep it for £12-14k as at that money its just not worth selling such a good car. Better to buy a shitter for everyday use and keep the Monaro for weekend fun if the fuel is the problem.
