just wondered if there is going to be an official Vauxhall extended warranty available for Monaros that remain serviced within the dealer network etc?

Just a thought as a few hundred Monaros will be turning 3 next year?

I think a lot of people would take the warranty on the basis that its not stupid money, plus it would :

- look after the 'Monaro specialist dealers' by ensuring cars remain main dealer serviced
- protect the long term residuals these cars / 'non profile' Vauxhall customers
- demonstrate that Vauxhall looks after its customers of its higher value, non maintstream products.

So in a way offering the extended warranties would be positive for all, it would probably also result in purchasers coming back for similar high performance models from Vauxhall in future.

Stu, your thoughts please?

Good idea. I'll talk to the warranty / aftersales team for pricing etc...

Hmm, Warranties with Monaros is a tricky subject. My local Monaro vauxhall dealer considers ANY change to the car to void the warranty. As the Monaro is an upgraders delight, how many of us will have the car for 3 years without some sort of upgrade, exhaust whatever?

BMW bikes use to have a great extended warranty deal at about £350.

Then (so I've been told but I'm not entirely convinced) some European law came in and they had to put the price up to about £750.
Now it was explained to me at the time the reasons why and, at the time, it seemed convincing (and no, I can't remember now)

The upshot was I laughed at the BM salesman when offered it.

Anyhoo, yes, pricing is everything.

Thanks Stu. Make it nice and cheap and hey presto everybody takes it, your dealers maintain their servicing revenue, residuals remain healthy and it all contributes to a healthy VXR brand and positive long term HSV imports.

But the exhaust (and therefore the remap - because you can't fit one without the other) is now endorsed by Vauxhall so therefore shouldn't be a problem.

Really? Exhaust and remap doesn't invalidate the warranty anymore? Where does this come from?

Wortec are approved I think.

Probably the less Monaro friendly approved Monaro vauxhall dealers ( the ones that are incompetant and don't mod themselves) try and scare us off the modding.

No complaints from mine (now )

Any word on this? I'd be interested if it's not silly money.

I've seen discussion of MOTs etc so I'm guessing there are a few people who have gone over 3 years now and a fair few due this year. Mine is due in the middle of June I think.
