By releasing the screw shown in the picture you can slide the boot catch down a bit which, when the boot lid closes, forces it to sit on its springy feet. Then when you press the boot open button on the fob it opens automatically, no need to be there to lift it at the right time to open it!

It took me a couple of times to get the catch to the right height, boot closes without having to slam it/springs up OK when released, but I now don't have to get out of the car to open the boot!

Apologies if I'm teaching any grandmothers how to suck eggs....teacher

Alternatively - there are two rubber stoppers either side of the boot - screw these out about 2 or 3 turns and you get the same affect.
