I am buying my car from a non-monaro Vauxhall dealer. It certainly appears to be an 04 model on an 05 plate as it doesnt have the 2 pods on the dash nor does it have the vents in the bonnet.

However on their invoice it says 2005 Monaro 5.7 [354] - it is calling it a 350 but everything else points to a 333. If someone is able to run a quick check that would really help me out - I'll pm details if someone is able to help me

thanks

Mike

certainly sounds more like the 333 version - I had similiar problem with mine. Vauxhall had wrongly registered the emissions with the DVLA and it appeared to be a VXR dressed as a CV8 as that was the only indication of model type on the paperwork. After much investigation by the dealers - again non-Monaro dealers they were able to confirm the error. Havent checked actually if they ever corrected it!

DVLA/VX cocked up on mine too - had it registered as a 5.7 not a 6.0 - Dealer wrote me a letter and DVLA have since changed it

sounds like it, I know its an 04 but want to make sure with dvla as I dont want the insurance co to use it as an excuse to muck around.

I would be more concerned with the dealer miss-describing the car under the "Sale of Goods" act.

well it wasnt advertised as the 350bhp model but just as an 05 plate monaro. The guys admitted they were not specialists and i've gotten an ok deal, I reckon I could have pushed for a further 500 during the haggling but managed to get 2700 down on the deal so no real complaints

Its pretty obvious

Does the car

a) 1 rear corner exhaust or b) Dual corner exhausts
a) Smooth bonnet or b) nostrils
a) large boot or b) small boot

Answers a=2004 MY answers b=2005 MY (MY=Model Year)

Plenty of 04MY cars were registered in 2005 under 54, 05 and 55 Registrations - possibly even a few on 06 plates I suspect

Another absolute giveaway in 3/4 photoview is fuel flap position teacher
High up on top of shoulder of o/s rear quarter panel: 05.
Lower down on side of rear quarter panel, close to bumper moulding: 04.

yes all roads lead to an 04, and despite the lower power over the 05 I'm actually happier about that - not trying to convince myself but i reckon the 04 will meet my requirements a little better and whats a few ponies anyway

Especially since you can take it to somewhere like Monkfish an get 370bhp+ for a few pennies (mine's booked in on Thursday). It's meant to improve throttle response a lot aswell which is my main reason for doing it. That extra power should see me get a few more mph at vmax too

I just need to start saving for the exhaust now.
