Hi Just a thought, anyone got a spare "spare wheel" from VXR model.
Found that an 04 CV8 space saver spare (15 inch I think) will not fit over VXR brakes (at least on the front).

Thanks Andy

ps any other 04 CV8 guys fitting VXR brakes please remember read

This has been debated before...

I think the resolution was to swap with the rear tyre and put the space-save on the rear

agreed, you can do that, hard work with water running down yer neck tho.

Its been debated by those with APs but not CV8s with VXR brakes

VXR spare costs some stupid amount of £500 odd.

Astra VXR option of the compressor/repairer is about £70 and weighs a lot less which is what I now have. My spare is now in my garage - anyone want to buy?!

Alan, what is this Astra solution you speak of?
Any more details?

They do a compressor with a foam sealent which you plug into the 12v and the tyre and it seals the leak and it inflates the tyre.

The Astra VXR's have them as standard fit. Would have preferred a real wheel but the cost made this a sensible solution.

Will get a pic of it over the weekend and post

Halfords tyre seal & a comp for a tenner nets the same, no use for side wall holes as I found to my cost, never travel without a spare again.

I would have posted a pic of the Vauxhall one but alas had to take the car back to the garage for a couple of annoying whines fron the diff....

Top marks to Andy and Chris at Picadors though who secured me a courtesy car 'instantly'.
