On the way home the other evening I had to 'make way' for an approaching vehicle, the front nearside valance caught the verge which I didn't think would be a problem, however when I got home and checked it the corner of the valance was quite badly damaged. With cars I've had in the past this area is some sort of deformable plastic and worst case is a little paintwork, however the Monaro seems to be fibreglass and it is 'messy (have you ever seen a reliant robin after an accident?).
I've had an exploded diagram from Picador which unfortunately shows this as one assembly, which is def going to be expensive, although looking at it it looks as if it is split into a large centre piece and two ends with the join being above the fog lights.
Has anyone had the front bumper/valence off an 04 VXR to confirm whether it is one piece or not?
Thanks
Gareth

£1,200 for a new '05 one

Ooch!!! Man, VX definitely know how to charge like wounded bulls that is for sure. I know I brought back a few bits and pieces, and paid quiet a few dollars less than what I would buy them here in pounds for. Ok, yes they are low volume, but the prices sometimes are just stupid.

I priced a 2002 HSV GTO (similar car) front bumper bar 2 or 3 months ago, for a friend and it was somewhere around AUD$1800. That might have been the lights too...can't remember now. Not painted either.
Now if you had a standard Monaro...

When I was told £1,200 for the VXR front bumper they said the standard CV8 part was about £400

think Vauxhall insist on VIN numbers when you want to order VXR parts - stops plebs like me with a CV8 making it into a lookalikey. Total repair bill for my car last year was around 2.5k which included a complete new drivers door, front wing and front bumper, fitting, painting etc and that was at insurance company prices. 400 quid for a CV8 bumper sounds about right.
The front bar is a single piece
.
As it is 'HSV' versus Holden it will be and is a lot more expensive. I was quoted by VX £1400 for the CV8 front bar.
Some sites like jhp.com.au have stuff and sometimes the peices are replicas rather than genuine HSV parts but look exactly the same.
I looked into gettiing a HSV bodykit for my CV8 and the for the same money I could have added Ap's and a supersharger!
