Though there would be no better place to post some questions - as you all seem a knowedgeable bunch - so here goes?

Tail Pipes - Am i right in thinking they come with 4 pipes - 2 on each side? Ive seen some cars with 2 nice big fat tail pipes - are these cars that have had the Wortec treatment - i would much prefer 2 big pipes than 4 little ones?

Indicators - after driving many japanese cars and other Oz cars, they often have the indicator stalk on the wiper side and vice versa - is this the case on the Ro or are these stalks on the british side?

Replacements - any ideas when the Monaro stops being produced what we would have as a replacement -5th Gear mentioned a 4 door commodore - would this be a nice V8 version like we have now?

Would Monkfish install some decent bulds as ive heard the standard ones are pants?

If you have the Wortec exhaust upgrade how loud is it inside the cabin? Im used to driving a Scoob with a straight through Blitz Nur Spec exhaust and its frankly too loud at high revs - is this the case with the Monaro - i want something quiet and relaxed at motorway speeds

Well, thats all i can think of for now but ill keep checking this site out!

Cheers guys

I ran my GTS with straight through pipes and was not allowed onto any track days, loud would be an apt description, now running with full Wortec system (meaning three rear boxes)which is civilised and could be taken as quiet, however when ragged on a track it's over 105db so not so quiet. Lots of owners are on the Wortec system without any boxes, they are loud but just about everyone seems to like the roar. Yes the Wortec system has two seperate slant cut large oval exit pipes.

Hope this helps silversmith

Well here goes

The 2 big pipes are the Wortec ones which sound great whether you have headers changed or not (if you do then they get louder inside and out but not bad by all accounts).

The wortec system comes with interchangable center boxes so you can go really loud or not so loud but be in no doubt you are driving a rorty torty V8 I have single big tip exit with boxes in and drive good miles everyday and it is perfect - when on my phone (hands free of course) people know if I am accelerting or not but cruise is nice.

Bo55/MOSE (or anyone else with this setup)would be best people to talk to for opinions

Stalks are opposite to Brits i.e. indicator on right.

Don't know about bulb installation - they raised my lights and they are now fine but sure they willl if you want it - very helpful chaps.

Monaro production stopped earlier this year. New model Commooder VE released in Oz (got to www.hsv.com.au to see it) and it is rumoured it is coming next March /April. Nobody seesm to kwno for sure when and if a Monaro replacement will arrive - VE looks good oh and yes it has a 6.0l V8 with 420HP out of the crate.

Hope that helps for starters

The bulb issue is a simple 15min job to fix, do a quick search on here and you'll find a link to a how-to, only tools required are a socket to loosen up the battery on the drivers side (to get into that headlight) and the air intake pipe on the passenger side just pulls off to allow you access to the other side...

...so all that leaves is acquiring the bulbs and if required modding the plug connection to make the better version capable of being used.

Took the guts of 10mins to do after modding the connectors in the house first

I am currently running full wortec exhaust (headers and cat-back) and no silencers. I would have to admit that without the silencers the noise can be intrusive and at motorway speeds it can drone quite a lot. At 118db I guess you wouldn't expect quiet though

If my memory serves me correctly then it was the same situation with just the cat-back i.e. drones at cruise. Again though I only had that with no silencers.

I suppose I could make it quieter by a) closing the window and b) putting the silencers on I am waiting for my ASBO before I do either.

When I had the catback done, I remember my motorway journeys being LOUD. The exhaust note seemed to drone quite loudly between 70/80mph in 6th gear. With the Headers/Cats done, that noise has now diminshed, and is only really noticed if you are cruising at about 70ish and climbing a bit of road.

Now I drive in the outside lane next to those large concrete barriers, in 4th gear and really give it some stick. Sounds glorious, but cant keep the window down for too long as the ears start ringing.
