Early hours of Saturday morning a neighbor finding themselves locked out got upset. After waking the terrace with varied expletives and colloquial expressions delivered at the top of her voice thus ensuring she had witnesses she kicked my passenger door repeatedly.
My question is directed to someone with experience with bodywork as I’m getting conflicting advice. Does the whole side of the car require a re-spray or just the door, the car is metallic phantom black.

i admire your restraint, perhaps you should have found her a brick in order to help her access her own home or car for the night.

chips away in reading is superb they carefully just paint the bits that need painting and being next to the Aston garage they always seem to be chocka with exotica, such as v8 vantages and so forth

whats refreshing is that the place isnt full of dust.

they may need to blend the colour along wing and rear quarter and then lacquer panels or you might be ok - a good body shop would tell you

Not that restrained the police are involved with a view to prosecute for criminal damage. It will make the subsequent civil action straight forward.

The need for spraying other panels to blend in is always dependant on the surrounding panels eg, if stone chips/scratches on any others around it is going to make repaired panel stand out compared to others,is it going to look too new compared to those either side. If car is new then shouldn't be problem just repairing one door.
Take it to the experts!!

ps Used to be a sprayer for major car manufacturer

Has she said sorry?

No but she has threatened me with legal action for falsely accusing her, which is what really made me see red. Fortunately I did not see her kicking my car that was another neighbour if I had then it may be me facing a criminal record now and not her.

Thats the problem they do not agree and I may end up paying for the job myself but I want it done right as the car is only 7 months old.

almost certainly going to need to blend it in to match it properly thanks to the tiny metallic flecks in the paint.

Hi,
from my experiance(bodyshop 1984-1996)
it would all depend on where and how much damage has been caused

(1) door/skin needs replacing = blend out the whole side
(2) large repair in middle of door = blend out whole side
(3) repair to front area of door = blend colour across door and front wing and lacquer whole door and front wing
(4) repair to rear area of door = blend colour across door and rear wing and lacquer whole door and rear wing
(5) if the paintwork is undamaged but panel is dented ask a quality
car dealer(sales manager, as they use them alot and only use good ones) to recomend a paintless dent removal expert
hope this helps

We have a communal courtyard and I was parked closest to the locked gate, I also assume she did not have the courage to kick her step-farthers 7 series.

I think this best describes the damage there are three dents not to deep and two scuff marks down to the metal in places of about 200mmx200mm

Due to overwhelming evidence the dim witted cow has worked out that she would be found guilty, so has accepted a caution, although this gives me the satisfaction that she now has a criminal record there will be compensation awarded by the court. My question is that as she is also declared bankrupt can I take her to small claims court or is she protected by the bankruptcy?

difficult one that. I believe cps will push for damages /compensation automatically if you prequest it.

somebody broke in to one of my cars a few years back, we saw them and gave in the reg number, police picked them up with a car full of nicked stereos and tools etc. He was told he would need to pay me £5 a month unless i was prepared to write the debt off. I said absolutely not, he didnt pay, he got taken to court, i was then asked if I would write it off, i said absolutely not, he got sent down for 6 months for non payment. i then got a letter asking if to help him get a new start i would write the debt off when he left prison, i said absolutely not - in the end I got my £700

his deliberate actions left me of out pocket, as per your situation so push it with the CPS / Court you dont need a civil action if a crimimal one is taking place
