My owners manual doesn't seem to feature these.

What are the recommended oil type and tyre pressures for a CV8?

Would 10w40 Mobil 1 be ok?

Thanks in advance,

Mackie

Given that you are riding on the 18s then I wouldnt know what to advise in terms of tyre pressures. But to give an idea us guys who are rifing on 19s are running around 36psi.

In terms of oil to use, I think that the LS1 uses the same oil as the LS2, I may be wrong.

I'm using what Vaux suggested which is 5w30. GM stuff is about £29 IIRC, but got hold of some Moby one in Halfrauds when they had their offer on for £19 and then got a standby Castrol bottle for £21.

Not sure if this helps.

Oh just to add I still do not have an owners manual. Caspy did order me one about a year ago but I think we have both forgotten about it.

Car never came with a user manual, just a book on how to use the stereo and a small bottle of HSV paint. Never even got a locking wheel nut thing of the tts.

Interesting. I've seen people recommend 10w40, 0w40 and 10w50 for LSx engines but never 5w30. I guess they aint that fussy! Kwikfit offer an oil change service using Mobil 1 for £35 including filter regardless of oil quantity (I'd watch them like a hawk mind!) but I think it's 10w40. I doubt they'd have the right filter though so I'd probably have to take my own along.

I'm running 32psi in my tyres at the moment which feels fine but I'm not sure if it's the correct pressure. I ran at 36psi for the 150mph+ runs at Brunters.

I know but it's very cheap. I shall see, it doesn't need changing for another 3 months
